THE HAUNTED HUSBAND

By Rudy Kerr

Dead bride haunts husband and his new fiancee to prevent them marrying. Page 3

None of Donny's friends could believe that Donny was engaged again just one year after Sissy Carson left him. Hannah was tall, fair, lithe, otherworldly and utterly beautiful. And she seemed utterly unfit to survive in Donny's frozen corner of the world. Almost as if Donny were defying fate and the-she-devil herself, the wedding plans were exactly the same--the same as the ones made for Donny's wedding with Becky and Sissy. Hannah was even set to wear Wilma Major's wedding gown. Yes, the same gown worn by both former fiancees. A long-time neighbor of the Majors told this reporter that it was her private fear that it was Mrs. Major's wedding gown that was the problem. The elderly neighbor remembers the bad blood between Wilma's family and the Major's family.

Wilma's family did not attended the wedding and never in all the years Wilma was married did any of them come to visit the Major house. As far as the neighbor knew, Wilma's parents never saw their grandson, Donny. "She should've burned that wedding gown the minute she took it off after the wedding. She should've tossed it into one of the fires that blazed along the dark wooded lane that guided the guests to the Major house. "It's cursed, I tell you!" she said. This Celebrity Ink reporter will be in Bangor, Maine in Donny Major's house on the eve of his wedding. Some say I should run and never look back at that death house. Some say I should not incur the wrath of the ghost of Becky Major. But then others say Wilma's Lobster Louis is to "die for."

When we first saw the furious, fiesty ghost of Becky Major it was on the top landing by the open window. Most guests screamed as we scrambled down the stairs. Becky's ghoulish and agonized screams struck pure terror in us all. Only Donny stood his ground on the top landing with Hannah catatonic beside him. When Becky looked at Donny, she moaned softly as if trying to seduce him. Becky took Donny's arm as she arranged her bridal veil over her bloodied face. It was as if Becky wanted Donny to renew their vows before the wide-eyed, Bible-clutching justice of the peace who stood in stunned silence below. Instead, Becky turned Donny toward the open window.

Hannah Wilson, Donny Major's third fiancee. Will Becky's ghost destroy her, too? If it were not for Major's mother, Wilma, grabbing Becky's gown, Becky would have pulled Donny out the window to a certain death on the rocky shore below. Becky howled and turned with rage on Wilma, who kept clawing off more and more of the white lace. As the pieces fell to the floor, it seemed that Becky's ghost was disappearing. Donny helped his mother rip off the rest of Becky's bloodied gown. The guests below watched transfixed and listened as Becky's voice grew fainter. When the entire gown was in shreads on the floor, Becky's ghost faded and with one faint cry was gone. When Wilma and Donny turned to the tattered gown, they saw it had vanished, too. Donny hurried downstairs looking for Hannah. But Hannah had fled Donny's house and his life forever. Though gone, perhaps destroyed, Becky's ghost drove Donny's last fiancee away, too. Some swore that Becky's last sounds were that of faint but hidieous laughter.
