Alligator-Man Strikes NEXT-FILES TV show

Agents Dulldore and Skilly didn't have to venture far to find a new monster for their mega-monster hit series "THE NEXT FILES." And it was one the script didn't call for. The cast and crew barely finished lunch and headed back to work. The location was in the Florida Everglades. The plot something about the Swamp Thing Returns. No sooner had the handsome Dulldore and the clever Skilly got to their marks on the deck of a houseboat then someone yelled, "Look, it's a man, no it's an alligator. Nooooo! It's an alligator-man!

Cast and crew alike rushed to watch the Swamp Thing rear its human head and thrash its enormous alligator body. Agent Dulldore was so into his character, he was heard to philosophize in his low, calm voice,

"In the great contest in the survival of the fittest only the infinite knows the infinite ways of the finite creatures called man and beast and the infinite possibilities of the combinations of the finite.

Her head bowed, eyebrow arched, Skilly gave Dulldore a sidelong glance that spoke volumes. What a professional, not letting the horror of the moment throw her off her cues. Someone screamed again. "Ed! My God, that's Ed Brumski. The alligator's got Ed Brumski!" "So, that's where the missing cameraman went," said Dulldore thoughtfully as the alligator took its last chop on the hapless crewman and swallowed down hard. "The truth is not only out there. It's everywhere. Even in the belly of the beast." Skilly screamed something wholly unSkilly like and shoved Dulldore into the swamp. Thank goodness the alligator didn't save room for dessert.

"Not only is the TRUTH out there," said the producer, "but remember--the worst science is fiction while the best fiction is science."
